Think before you give this code. This code is used for factory format. It'll remove all files and settings including the internal memory storage. It'll also reinstall the phone firmware.

PS: Once you give this code, there is no way to cancel the operation unless you remove the battery from the phone. So think twice before giving this code.

This code can be used to enter into Service mode. You can run various tests and change settings in the service mode.

For increasing music volume:

Type *#197328640#
Click the button 5 ( Audio )
Click the button 2 ( AP, Volume Config)
Click on the button 2 (EAR Config )
Click the button 1 (volume PM) - to increase the volume of music files or the 5 key (FM Radio volume ) - Radio
We can see the 7 lines (0-6 ) , we can increase the value of
all lines (these are the lines that define the level at each
support ), you can change any of them or increase only
last value of 58dB to 75dB and 100db max .

To enter double digit, for 0 line press 0 on the number pad it will say write on the top right hand corner on the screen. just tap on the bar 3 to 4 times quickly below the number key pad and then another keypad should open. enter desired number and press ok twice...done.

Key in *#8740# to enable "AP UART" mode,
key in the code again, to enable back to "CP UART" mode.

It is proven uses lesser battery power but a little bit affect the performance while in AP UART mode. See the effect of AP UART You are not allowed to view links.

As always I have to mention this: 

Across on Samsung's developer forum, a poster posted a question not related to bada development and inputted some code - one of the above and messed up his screen's brightness settings as a result  and is pleading for help....  I had to be blunt with him and say - "Hey.... you're responsible for any outcomes that may happen as a result...."

Think of medical doctors - "First do no harm"... if you don't want to mess up, steer clear of it....

i found that the instruction didnt work for me. try this;
*press the number you want to change ie 6 and wait for the 'write' to appear
*press white banner and sweep up the screen
*enter your new amount ie 100
*press done
*press okay and the figure clears
*press top right hand side of screen once

figure should be changed. if not repeat

Glad you sorted it. if you mess it up, a hard reset doesnt change the settings back to factory setting unfortunately.
To change the ring tone loudness you need to;

*enter the code
*press 5, audio
*press 2, AP volume config
*press 3, spk config
*press 3, ringtone volume

They should all be set to 61dB. You need to change the last value(6). I think that 100dB is the maximum. Hope this helps
