VoIP is only forbidden over 3G, but not over WIFI... so there is the possiblity we will see something that does VoIP in the future.
it could well be that the current SDK does not give enough APIs/functions that would be needed for that kind of applications

In terms of global sales by os, Bada is invisible. It's market share is lumped under "other os" so don't expect big developers to develop for Bada unless in a deal with Samsung. (eg. Gameloft, Route66) bada was an oppurtunity samsung threw at itself nd it cant withold it now.. bada lacks the thought of an open source system... wave will live but bada will die sooner than later
If Bada dies so will Wave. But I don't think it will die. It will just hang on as a niche os like Palm Pre. For those who don't need a lot of apps they can live with it.

the only problem i see right now is, that the wave is not released in the united states ... but that could be a deliberate decision by samsung. perhaps they want to develop bada further so that it is really competitive and than throw it at the US and attract customers with a cheap and mature product. this would gather more developers for sure

Possibly, SKYPE will come on Bada, but not very soon. At the best case scenario, sometimes after Wave I first birthday, but most likely after the second year of the Wave I release. Why, because Samsung probably has some deal with service providers and needs to wait for their clients 2 year contracts to expire. Samsung could allow SKYPE on the unbranded devices meanwhile, but probably does not want to piss off their larger clientele group, the people who use branded devices. The question is if anybody will be patient that long or if SKYPE will be interested in Bada after such a long lasting piss off game.

I dont think samaung will allow viber in bada as its also same almost like skype which also seems never allowed by samsung & these are reasons that Bada will die soon

@ninosm1 - If you think the themes are "g*y" then you should create your own themes! The software is available, and it's incredibly easy to do. But I think your point is the expensiveness of applications/themes..

yes really bada is getting suppressed by android and ios in terms of apps and games.. But samsung has shown some interest during these few days by giving asphalt 6 adrenaline and sims3 for free but again kept angry birds for INR.99/- whichi I bought. But samsung needs to do something with their os i.e. bada. after giving bada 2.0 unofficially.. samsung is givng bada 2.0 compatible apps and games,, Hows that possible. So there is some link between samsung and other firmware developers I think so. And I will say wave I s8500 is superb phone with everything in it.
Just samsung needs to look for their os and invite developers to improve their os by paying them accordingly. Than only bada can survive. Bada can only survive if it gets voip service providers like skype or viber etc. And if samsung opens the market just as android market than it will be a boom for samsung and their propreitary os i.e. bada. And ya we need adobe flash player also not flash lite kinda slow flash player...
Samsung open ur eyes and look forward for all this..
